Dear Housing Colleague,

It is my pleasure to draw your attention to an upcoming event and encourage your participation.

What: Housing Forum Europe & Central Asia

When: 4 – 6th April, 2011

Where: Budapest, Hungary

Organisers: Habitat for Humanity International; the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Shelter and Settlements Department; the United Nations Development Programme; and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

The Housing Forum will be a solution-oriented event seeking to set an agenda for housing in Europe and Central Asia. The aim is to address the major challenges facing housing in the region and develop a common vision for housing in Europe & Central Asia. To do this, the Housing Forum is bringing together key individuals and organisations from the Europe and Central Asia housing sector. Such a gathering represents an excellent opportunity for the exchange of ideas, mutual learning, coalition- and consensus-building between those committed to the cause of sustainable housing.

To facilitate networking and learning, there will be an opportunity for delegates to present 90-minute sessions on days two and three of the Forum. Topics should be related to one of the four Housing Forum tracks and may be presented in the form of workshops, presentations or roundtable discussions. Presenting a break-out session is not required for attendance at the Forum, however delegates wishing to participate in this way should:

1) register to attend the Forum as a delegate.

2) submit a title and brief description of your session and the track in which it could appear. (Skip this step to register as a delegate without presenting.)

3) pay the registration fee. Contributors will receive a 20% discount.

Any questions may be directed to the Housing Forum Team at ecahousingforum@habitat.org
